Although I greatly enjoyed reading your ideas and evaluating your writing over the past week I noticed a certain interpretive repetition in many of your responses. This recurrence of theme is, I know, due to the phrasing and tenor of my question- perhaps it was a bit guided, controlled, even easy. So, in order that I might fully gauge your genius brains plowing along at full-force, independent and self- directed, I thought I might throw you in the deep without any rhetorical lifeline. Hence, the most open-ended (and freeing), yet apposite (look it up) question I thought that I could construct is: Keeping an eye on narrative, why would one assign “How It Feels to Be Colored Me” and “The New Dress” during the same week? Do you feel that they were wisely paired?
Please write a 500 word response- no longer, no shorter. Be both specific and risky with your ideas and language.
My deadlines will be different this coming week in order to avoid grading over 40 responses in one night again. In order to receive a potential 100%, you first response must be posted by 6pm on Wednesday evening. For a potential 90%, 6pm Thursday. The deadline for receiving any credit at all will be Friday by 3pm.
Thanks.
